Malabar Coast - Kerala Tour

Dates To be announced

The Live India motorcycle tour of South India comprises quite literally the best of everything the Malabar Coast of Kerala can provide. The new Enfield’s you will ride are definitely the most enjoyable way to tour South India in style. The trip combines fabulous luxury colonial hotels with breathtakingly beautiful routes and is uniquely designed to reveal Kerala’s secret places that you can only see by motorbike.

One moment you will be on the tropical coast in your shorts and t-shirt, and the next you’ll be at 7000ft sipping tea in the high Western Ghats mountains of South India with your jacket on enjoying the cool alpine air. There is a huge variety of everything on this tour, from delicious, out of this world cuisine, to tribal festivals way off the tourism trail. As for your motorbike, it just has to be the latest model Royal Enfield classic 500, the only way to tour the exotic landscapes of Kerala, South India in style.

If you are looking for a motorcycle tour that combines full-on luxury with real adventure then why not join us on our South India odyssey along the Malabar Coast and inland Kerala.

Once again this is a real holiday where you will have time to enjoy and absorb the unbelievable variety of natural beauty and culture that makes Kerala one of the most sought after destinations in the world.

Kerala is a tropical paradise with everything to offer from 8000ft peaks to quiet palm fringed beaches, wild tribes to quaint colonial hideaways, not forgetting the lush jungles, backwater lagoons and spectacular tea plantations.

From the sound of the waves gently lapping on the beach as you lay in your hammock under the warm tropical winter sun to cruising on your Royal Enfield through the undulating green carpets of the worlds highest tea plantations, this trip will put you in touch with yourself and with nature leaving you refreshed and revitalized, with a head full of exhilarating memories to take home with you.

Starting in the wonderfully historic and romantic old port city of Cochin on the Indian Ocean, the tour takes you through the most fascinating and scenic areas of Kerala that are only accessible to those who can travel by motorcycle.

The unique to LiveIndia routes we have chosen for you are superb, some days you’ll be on the highway, others through gorgeous leafy wildlife sanctuaries and still more alongside beaches or up in the clouds with your warm clothes on traversing some of South India’s most exciting mountain ranges.

Along the way you’ll discover quaint colonial era British settlements and get to explore the forests and jungles that Kerala is famous for. Throw into the mix excellent food and accommodation to take your breath away, as well as the most charming people you could ever expect to meet and you have yourself the ultimate winter adventure.

Using our inside knowledge and extensive connections we get you way off the beaten track and let you into some of Kerala’s best kept secrets.

If you would like to see it all, and at a relaxed pace that allows you to enjoy the experience to the full, then this tour is the one for you.

We will pick you up from the airport and provide you with superb service for the duration of the trip with two top guides and full support team with vehicles who will be on hand to oversee your comfort all along the way.

Your motorcycle will be the new Royal Enfield Classic 500 manufactured in South India and ideally suited to tour the varied terrain and riding conditions you will encounter here.

Early booking is recommended as this tour is run only once per year to coincide with the best riding weather. Places are limited to eight adventurers, all you need to do is click on the “Book Now” button and pay your deposit to secure your place.

The Route

Live India Motorcycle Tour Malabar Coast

There is such a wealth of fantastic places to stay along our route that as ever we are going to push the boat out and book you into the best of them!

We don’t stay in fancy places every night, we simply stay in the best places every night

Whether it’s a beachside colonial mansion turned into a hotel, a maharaja’s palace, or a jungle lodge on stilts, you will be staying in some of the most exciting accommodation in South India.

We believe that quality accommodation makes the trip into a dream holiday as well as a superb adventure, so we never hold back on booking you into the most interesting and characterful options.

For Example

In Cochin you will stay at the Old Harbour Hotel, a Tripadvisors Travellers Choice 2012 winner

In the labyrinth of inland lagoons and waterways of Kerala, you will stay on the edge of a lake at the wonderful Coconut Lagoon, also a Travellers Choice 2012 award winner.

South Indian cuisine is renowned the world over. Unlike in the west where one expects to find the best cooking in smart restaurants, in Asia the best food is often found in “aunties place” by the side of the road. Home cooking using fresh ingredients and family recipes passed down through the generations and refined over hundreds of years is definitely king. You will also certainly be dining in some of the top restaurants in South India with fabulous continental menus but you will also get to experience the flavours and spices that make Keralan food the culinary legend that it is.

Whether it is fresh seafood cooked straight from the net or subtly spiced local delicacies you will get to sample the very best of everything and vegetarians will be in their element. All drinks and meals are included in the price of the trip.

Riding Conditions

For the most part you’ll be on well surfaced country roads but here and there there is a bit of the loose stuff plus the usual selection of India’s ubiquitous potholes to keep you on the straight and narrow. Most days are four hours in the saddle with a couple of longer leisurely rides in between, through areas of outstanding natural beauty. These are counterbalanced by days off in relaxing locations where you can also take part in optional day trips or just chill out and enjoy yourself. We have one long day on the national highway at the end of the trip that will get your pulse racing, by that time you’ll be more than ready to enjoy it. As for the riding, you can take it for granted that this journey as with all of our routes will take you through some of the best scenery on the planet!

The weather is set to be cool, fine and clear as this is the very best time to be in Kerala.
